blueberries

"Would you be able to give me a discount if I ordered 20 flats of blueberries?", I asked. "Are you a restaurant?", the respond. Yes, pretty much. Now that we ended up with 132 lbs of blueberries, we might be able to last until....November? I try to support healthy eating, but sometimes I feel like Chris goes a little wonky when it comes to his favorite antioxidant. If he ever gets cancer, I will know that they are all a bunch of quacks.

Me: Well, with the 24 bags of blueberries in the freezer
Chris: and the 5 in the fridge
Me: No...6 in the fridge
Chris: no...5
Me: (blank stare, followed by epiphany) You already ate one bag?!??!

and this is why I got 132 lbs of blueberries. 4 lbs gone in 2 hours.

Yum! Blueberries with Grapenuts cereal is my all time favorite breakfast. It's like the "breakfast of champions" and I feel great after eating it!

I tried to leave a comment the other day but had a little "helper" at the computer with me. I was actually going to ask you about scrapbooking. Being a busy Mom and all I was wondering if you had a system for scrapbooking for your family... do you have a book for each child or family albums? Do you only document special occasions? I always like to ask other moms to share their great ideas- I find them so helpful!(Sorry for the mega long comment)

Here is my mega long response. :) I am a little behind as I haven't scrapbooked since Chris' stroke. I normally keep an album for me and then one for each of the girls. I have the attitude that they are probably going to want one in their home when they run away from this place, so I am trying to plan ahead. I also like to do mine non-digitally because I feel like handwriting is a very important part of it all. When scrapbooking a family vacation, I do the same page for each girl with different journaling and different pictures. I throw in pages of just them or of events that are specific to them. What is your system?

Paige: I can't find your e-mail. Will you shoot me an email so I can respond?

Actually, I don't have a very organized system and my pages are really simple. I really like your idea of doing a similar page for each child for things like family vacations.

I do have a book for each of my kids, but I am always behind on them! I try to do just special occasions and include their achievements etc. I always keep a copy of the photos that I put in their books and put all of our family photos in archival books where you just slide the photos in pockets on each page. Not fancy at all and I'm even behind on those books too! I'm so impressed that you make a book for yourself. I think that is a great idea.

Thanks so much for taking time to respond. I realize that I need to set aside more time to keep these important records- thanks for inspiring me!

Don't worry--I gave them to Lia, so you'll get them next week.

I MISS the berries! We used to pick 13 lbs at a time and they were gone in DAYS! Everyone said my kids would make themselves sick, but they never did. :) I miss that! Wish I had 132 lbs of berries! LOL
